The Shadowing technique for self-studying a language (example: Chinese):

1. Blind Shadowing: Listen to Chinese audio, never mind the meaning;

2. Meaning: Read translated text in English while listening again to Chinese;

3. Original Text:
Repeat the Chinese text loud (preferably walking) while listening.

Shadowing a foreign language (Chinese)

4. Study all the explanations in book on
Grammar,
Vocabularies

5. Copy the original text
Practise writing.

6. Dictation
Listen to Chinese text and write them down.
Check the errors.

7. Discipline:
Everyday 1 new lesson – (20 minutes)
Revise previous lessons.

Trout in a parcel – Little Paris kitchen

My favorite fish: Trout (鳟鱼)

Like all tasty fishes, trout has many tiny bones which is quite messy to eat. My french colleague saw me spitting bones frequently throughout the meal, taught me the smart French way: use a knife to cut the fish skin into half from head to tail, peel open the body, break the fish skeleton from the tail, then pull it out from the body along with all the tiny bones hidden in the flesh.
