I recalled in the 1950s my illiterate grand-mom and aunties in the kampong (village) used to write in a form of “女书” numeral characters for betting on private lottery (十二支): eg.

It is common to see a Chinese sings Ang Moh “红毛” songs, rare to see the other way round … now with China economy growing to challenge the No.1 USA, Chinese soft-power in language, music, food, medicine (a S$5/bottle HK cough syrup sold at $70 in Europe), acupuncture, cuisine, Taiji, etc…
